Convert a PDF bank statement to Excel
Copying a statement into Excel by hand takes hours and one typo breaks the totals. Sheetlark reads the PDF on your own device, rebuilds every transaction row and gives you an .xlsx file with real dates and real numbers, so sorting, filtering and SUM formulas work straight away.
Step by step
- Open the converter and drop your PDF statement (or several) onto the page.
- Wait a second or two while each row is read and checked against the statement’s running balance.
- Look at the green “Verified” badge, or fix any highlighted row in place.
- Choose Excel and download. Each statement gets its own sheet plus a combined sheet and a summary.
Why copy-paste from a PDF goes wrong
PDF text is positioned, not structured. When you copy it, descriptions that wrap onto two lines split into two rows, debit and credit columns collapse into one, and numbers arrive as text that Excel will not add up.
Sheetlark rebuilds the table from the position of every word: it joins wrapped descriptions, keeps money in and money out apart and converts amounts to numbers with exactly the right number of decimal places.
How you know the numbers are right
Most statements print a running balance after each transaction. Sheetlark recalculates that balance from the opening balance and every amount it read, and compares it with the printed figure on every row. If all of them match to the cent, the statement is marked Verified. If one does not, that row is highlighted with the exact difference so you can fix it in seconds.
Questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 3 days with every feature. Then $12.99 a month, cancel anytime.
Do you see my statements?
No. Your statement is read on your own phone or computer and never sent to us. Once the page has opened, it keeps working even without internet.
Will dates and amounts be real Excel values?
Yes. Dates are true Excel dates and amounts are numbers with a currency format, so formulas, pivots and charts work immediately.
