Get PDF bank statements into QuickBooks
When a bank feed is missing or broken, QuickBooks needs the transactions in a file. Sheetlark creates the CSV layout QuickBooks Online expects, or a QBO Web Connect file for QuickBooks Desktop, from your PDF statements.
Step by step
- Drop the PDF statements for the account into the converter.
- Confirm each statement is Verified (or fix highlighted rows).
- Choose “QuickBooks Online (CSV)” or “QuickBooks Desktop (QBO)” and download.
- In QuickBooks, upload the file for the matching bank account and review the imported transactions.
Which file should I use?
QuickBooks Online imports CSV files from the Banking page (Upload transactions). QuickBooks Desktop imports QBO (Web Connect) files through File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect Files.
Every transaction gets a stable ID in QBO files, so importing the same statement twice does not create duplicates.
Questions
Does it work with credit card statements?
Yes. Card statements are detected automatically and exported with purchases as money out and payments as money in, which is what QuickBooks expects for a credit card account.
Can I add categories before importing?
Yes. Sheetlark suggests categories and you can add your own rules, but QuickBooks will still let you match and categorise during review.
