Privacy policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
The short version: Sheetlark converts your statements inside your own browser. We never receive, see or store your statements, transactions, passwords or the files you download.
What we do not collect
- The contents of any file you open in the converter, including bank or card statements and images.
- Passwords you type to open protected PDFs.
- Converted data and exported files.
These are read entirely on your own device and disappear when you close the page. The website is locked so it can’t send your data to us or anyone else.
What is stored on your device
If you choose a theme, export format, reading settings or category rules, those preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are there next time. Category rules contain the text you chose to match, such as a merchant name. A license key you enter is stored the same way, and on the free plan so is a count of how many statements you converted today (a number, nothing about the statements). None of this leaves your device. You can remove your settings and rules at any time with Clear everything in the converter, or everything by clearing your browser’s site data.
What our hosting provider sees
Like any website, the company that hosts Sheetlark receives standard technical information needed to deliver web pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used only to operate and protect the service and is not combined with any statement data (which we never have).
Problem reports
If you choose to send a problem report, we receive what you type, your email address if you give one, and basic technical details shown to you before sending (browser, screen size, number of files and pages, which checks failed, the bank name detected and layout settings). Reports never include your statements, names, amounts or account numbers. They are delivered to us by email through our email provider, Resend, and kept only as long as needed to fix the problem.
Payments
If you buy a paid plan, the purchase is processed by our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record and handles your card details and sales tax under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address, the plan purchased and a license key, which we use to provide your subscription and support.
Cookies and tracking
Sheetlark does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not embed third-party trackers.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16.
Your rights
Because we do not collect statement data, there is no such data to access, export or delete. For anything else, including payment records, email sheetlark@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes will be announced on the website.
